There are two simple methods to switch columns in Excel. The first method is to drag and drop. The second method is to copy and paste it into the desired column order.
Method 1
You can simply drag and drop columns around depending on how you want to arrange the columns.
For example, you want to move all the data from column A to behind of column B. Simply select the entire column A, left-click and hold down on the header, then drag it across and over to column C.
Once done, your column A will be behind column C.
Method 2
The second method is to copy and paste the column to switch the position of a column.
For example, you want to now move column A into column D. Simply select the entire column A, right-click, and select ‘Cut’.
Then select the entire column D, right-click again, and select ‘Paste’. There you go! You have now learned to easily switch columns in Excel.
